Lake Matheson - a favorite spot for tourists, and photographers alike.
My wife and I were sitting inside a campground common room in Fox Glacier having given up on the evenings ambitions at Lake Mathseon due to the weather - for it was a very wet afternoon on the West Coast. For some reason I looked outside not long before sunset and, seeing some blue sky, yelled “let’s go” grabbing the camera gear as I dashed out to the car for a fast trip down the road to Lake Matheson. Still shod in sandals I ran as fast as I could for quite a while around the trail by the lake to where I wanted to be for the image I had in mind - arriving just in time to put together a few frames including this image.
