A trio of image candidates for the New Zealand book
June 9, 2008
Here are a few more candidates for inclusion into the Three Weeks in New Zealand book project that I thought I'd share with everybody.
So without any extra fanfare or further ado, image one:
With an approaching storm we were heading south from Karamea on the West Coast to Westport where we would cross over to sunny Nelson in an attempt to miss the storm. We didn't miss the storm. Here it is on the way to make land near Westport.
Image two:
One evening we were shooting the sunset near Haast, and on our walk out to the coast we passed this tidal lagoon and scouted it out for shooting on our way back. So we tried out hand at fishing on the way back, attempting to catch the moon. We failed.
Image three:
So there we were, at the end of the road. We knew we were at the end of the road, for here the road continued no further. And as for the fate of this building for which tenders closed almost a year ago (when this was photographed) we felt this sign said it all: THE END OF THE ROAD?
