A Print Signing
August 29, 2008
Wow! Huge prints really do have that wow factor, don't they? Fujiflex supergloss prints especially really do have to be seen to be believed - this material is truly incredible, just like Cibachrome. The finish is just like a mirror - perfectly smooth, incredibly glossy, and better yet, the print is inside this material and really glows as though lit from the inside. Check out the reflections on these prints! The glow you'll have to see for yourself.

Anyway, so where was I? Ah yes, print signing. When I create your fine art print (each print is custom made to order), I then sign your print by hand with an archival pigment ink pen before I mat them where I sign them again in classic pencil. Simple, and elegant.
Here's some shots of a couple of prints that went out recently - Kearsarge Pinnacles », and Sunset over Lake Matheson » - both large prints 24x36" and 18x36" respectively. Just a note on image sizes: a one inch border surrounds each print so the paper size is larger than the print size given - the above paper sizes are 26x38" and 20x38". This makes for a much better and stronger matted finished article.
As I mentioned above, I sign each print on both the mat and the print itself as you can see here with the print signing. Why? I do that so that at any time in the future you wish to re-mat your artwork, you'll still have signed, titled, and numbered print. I do like to make it easy for you!

Just as a quick note - I'm working on a shopping cart system that will allow for a much simpler buying process over the web. Just like i said earlier - I do like to make it easier for you. Look for it over the coming months. Not to worry or fear: you'll still be able to order via email or telephone like now - I love that contact with my customers too!
Anyway there's more to follow, along with some exciting photographic expeditions we have planned coming up soon, so be sure to check the blog for details...
